- Draw images sent with the kitty graphics protocol: PNG, RGB and RGBA images that scroll with the text, in front of or behind it. A terminal keeps up to 64 MB of images; they clear with the screen and don't come back after Rexa relaunches yet.
cmd-k keeps the line your cursor is on at the top, like other terminals, instead of blanking every row; it leaves a full-screen program such as Vim or Claude Code alone.- A cleared terminal or run log stays clear after Rexa relaunches; the cleared output used to come back.
- Fix
clear leaving the old screen in the scrollback. - Fix Claude Code leaving a copy of its banner in the scrollback at every step of making its pane narrower.
- Add a scrollbar over terminal history: it shows while you scroll through it, and you can drag it or click its track.
- Fix gaps between block characters, such as Claude Code's logo and progress bars.
- Fix Claude Code's first screen drawing in two halves.
- Fix a terminal freezing when a program stopped in the middle of a synchronized screen update.
Agents
- Fix the extension host crashing every so often while Codex, Cursor or OpenCode wrote to its database, which stopped agent cards from updating.
- Fix agents such as Codex and OpenCode disappearing after the extension host restarted, until Rexa relaunched.
- Fix restored agents losing their session at startup when their adapter took more than 15 seconds to load.
- Fix resuming an agent whose launch command you set in Settings: it started a new conversation, and after a terminal restart its card was lost. The resume now runs your command with the agent's own resume flags.
- Fix an agent card disappearing after Rexa restarts its terminal, when the agent took a moment to resume.
- Fix an agent typed into a fish shell, or into a shell started by its full path, getting no card.
- Pi cards recognize
omp and read the session files it writes. - Fix a Pi card's status not following a turn Pi reported, and Pi sessions whose title comes before their header not loading.
Worktrees
- An agent card working in a worktree of its own shows a worktree mark; click it for that worktree's actions. Turn it off in Settings → General → Worktrees → Card worktree icon.
- Dragging an agent card over another worktree shows where it will land, and the drop puts it there.
Files
- Create a file or folder from the files palette (
cmd-p): type a path that doesn't exist yet and pick "Create file", or end it with / for "Create folder"; cmd-enter creates it from any row. An existing file is opened, never overwritten.
Windows
- Rexa runs natively on Windows as an experimental build, unsigned; the
deltaqdev/rexa-releases README has the install command.
Changed
- Updating to 0.8.0 restarts every open terminal once: the terminal service's protocol changed. Agent cards resume their sessions.
cmd-k and the terminal menu's Clear keep the prompt line; they used to blank every row. A run log's Clear still wipes it all.- Rexa starts Claude Code with
CLAUDE_CODE_FORCE_SYNC_OUTPUT=1, so Claude draws each screen in one piece. Set it in terminal.env to override. - A program that holds a synchronized screen update open for more than 1 second has its output drawn anyway.
- Rexa refuses an update whose release list carries a signature that doesn't match Rexa's release key. Unsigned lists are still accepted.
rexa commands print your home folder as ~ instead of ~/.- Terminals report their size in device pixels (twice the points on a Retina display), and a move to another display resizes the terminal, so image tools size pictures to the screen.
rexa extension reload <id> is refused while that extension is still loading late after a restart, for up to 2 minutes.
