Every live agent has a card in the Projects sidebar, under its worktree. Past sessions are listed in the Agents panel, where you can read and resume them.

    Agent cards

    Icon Status Meaning
Spinner Working A turn is running.
Yellow alert Your turn The agent waits on a permission prompt or a question.
Check Idle The turn finished. A double check means you have not looked yet.
Red ✕ Interrupted The turn was cancelled or hit an API error.
Red unplug Detached Restored after a relaunch, not yet confirmed by the agent.

A card you have not looked at since it needed you shows its title brighter. Clicking the card or focusing its terminal marks it seen.

    • Click a card to jump to its terminal.
    • Hover a card for the agent, status, current activity, model, context use and process.
    • Cycle cards in the worktree with ⌃ ` and ⌃ ~.
    • Find any live agent with ⌘ E.
    • rexa: toggle session detail adds a second line to each card with its activity or model.

A card takes its title from your rename, then the agent’s own session title, then its first prompt.

    Card menu

Right-click a card for Rename, Open Transcript, Copy Session ID, Copy As (card id, terminal id, transcript path, worktree path), Reveal Worktree in Finder and Remove Card.

Remove Card (⌘ ⌫ in the sidebar) asks first. It forgets the card and leaves the process running.

    Sound

A chime plays when an agent stops working and needs you: it finished, or it waits on your answer. Cancelled turns and restored cards stay silent, and cards that settle together make one sound. Rexa sends no macOS notifications.

    sound.enabledbooleandefault: true

    Play the chime.

    sound.chimestringdefault: 'attention'

attention, glass, submarine, tink, or a path to a sound file.

    Agents panel

⌘ ⇧ A opens the Agents panel in the right dock.

Agents lists each installed agent with its CLI version, plan, and memory and skill counts. A yellow hooks tag means Rexa’s hooks for that agent need attention; run rexa <agent> setup --check. Click an agent to open its manage tab.

Sessions lists the worktree’s live sessions, then past ones, with a search field.

    Session history

    • Click a past session to open its transcript. Rest the pointer on it for a preview.
    • Resume a past session from its hover button. It opens in a new terminal with the agent’s resume command.
    • Copy the session id from the hover button.

In a repository’s main checkout, the list also includes sessions from its other worktrees, labeled with their branch.

    Transcripts

A transcript opens as a center tab. It shows the session’s prompts and replies as markdown, the agent’s thinking, and each tool call with its result. File edits have a Review button that shows the diff. Each turn shows its model, timing and token use.

Paths in a transcript open in a tab. The header has Resume, Copy path and Open in new tab.

A transcript is read when you open it and does not update while the agent works. Reopen it for new turns.

    Inspector

Hover a live session in the Agents panel and choose Open Inspector for a read-only view of the session: model, context use, recent messages, files read and edited, and a log of the latest 200 events. Claude Code reports the most detail.

    Message an agent from another

rexa agent send writes a message to a live agent, as if typed at its prompt. Agents use it to hand work to each other.

    Terminal
rexa agent ls # live agents; * marks this terminal's
rexa agent send a-3f2c "Review my last commit"
    • A busy agent is retried every 10 seconds, up to --max-wait (default 30s).
    • A finished agent is resumed with the message.

The handoff skill builds on this for a reviewer and worker loop. See Skills.
